About Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, aimed at strengthening rural India through higher educational institutions. Vinayak Vidyapeeth actively participates in UBA by adopting nearby villages and contributing to their sustainable development through knowledge transfer, community engagement, and innovative solutions.

The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to social responsibility, inclusive growth, and nation-building, aligning with the vision of NAAC and IQAC for community-oriented higher education.

Objectives of UBA

  • To contribute to holistic and sustainable development of rural communities
  • To promote community engagement and experiential learning among students
  • To identify local challenges and develop need-based, practical solutions
  • To strengthen the rural–urban knowledge connect
  • To foster social responsibility and ethical values in students

Activities under UBA

  • Adoption of nearby villages as per UBA guidelines
  • Village surveys and need assessment studies
  • Awareness programmes on health, hygiene, sanitation, education, digital literacy, and environment
  • Skill development and entrepreneurship awareness programmes
  • Cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Participation of faculty and students in community-based projects and outreach activities
